Every home begins as a spec home, purchased during various stages of construction. Mitchell Building Company likes to allow the purchaser to choose their own selections for cabinets, floor covering, and countertops. Although we have built homes across all price ranges, we are currently concentrating on quality-built homes in the $180,000 - $300,000 price range. We have always specialized in high-quality, affordable homes. We do not show homes that are full of upgrades. Instead, we include what is shown in the base price. As a result, our buyers seldom make any significant upgrades.
Originally from Ann Arbor, Thomas Mitchell, the company founder, has lived in the Brighton area for more than 25 years. Tom is proud to be a hands-on builder. He is on the job daily doing anything needed, paying attention to details, checking workmanship, and keeping the jobs moving. That experience and dedication to quality enable Mitchell Building Company to build quality-controlled, beautiful homes at an affordable price.
Tom's wife, Mary, is also a licensed builder, developer, University of Michigan graduate, and office manager. Their daughter Emily, a graduate of the University of Michigan, is a licensed builder and a licensed real estate agent. Emily's husband, Jason, has joined the team in the last few years. Like Tom, he is on-site every day, working hard to forward the progress of the homes we build. In addition, Jason watches quality control and does a lot of the detailed work on-site. Together, they form a strong team in building and marketing their projects.
